Authentic Sash Horns

We provide beautifully authentic sash horns that have been meticulously created. They were once just used to bolster and support the sash windows’ framework, but today they are purely decorative and exhibit exceptional craftsmanship.

We provide the unique seamless run through horn for our Ultimate Rose line, which faithfully imitates the design frequently seen on Edwardian and Victorian timber windows. It is a terrific finishing touch for homeowners searching for the ideal timber style. These sash windows differ from others because the horns don’t have a visible cap, seam, or shadow line. You can also opt for no horn, but this seamless sash window feature is a great option with our Ultimate Rose range for the most authentic sash window.

When you select our Heritage or Charisma models, you can also choose between these two authentic sash window features: standard run through or clip on horns. Both options provide an authentic timber appearance and highlight superb craftsmanship, but our clip on horns is more cost effective.

Authentic Astragal Bars

Another authentic sash window feature we offer for our uPVC sliding sash windows is astragal bars. Since they emphasise the distinctive qualities of Victorian, Edwardian, and Georgian timber sash windows, they are a crucial component of traditional design.

Regarding the astragal bar design for our sliding sash windows, we have exceptional flexibility and versatility, enabling replication of any historical style. Our Ultimate Rose and Heritage Rose windows have ovolo inside the frame and real, fully putty line chamfered bars on the exterior. Cottage style ovolo bars are also used inside and outside our Charisma Rose sash windows.

To mimic the appearance of separate glass panes, our astragal barred sash windows use back to back duplex bars inside the glass unit. Instead of the traditional clips and tape method, full length aluminium carrier bars are used in producing these bars. Because of this, our astragal bars are stronger and longer lasting than those you might find elsewhere.

Authentic Flush Cills

Our range of sash windows is equipped with integrated flush cills, which fit perfectly over stone cills. At Sashes of Surrey, we are determined to meet your needs – which is why we provide various projecting cill solutions to match your requirements.

For the most authentic sash window feature, we include the flush cill as a standard on our entire product range, as this has the greatest appearance of traditional timber windows.
